Brendan's open new buildings |
Olympic
Gold medalist Amy Williams officially opened and Bishop
Declan Lang blessed new buildings at ST BRENDAN'S
SIXTH FORM COLLEGE in Bristol. The building works
which have taken two years to complete and cost £20
million include new equipment and facilities for all subject
areas including a theatre, sports hall, dance studio, art
facilities including studio and dark room, library, chapel,
science laboratories and social space for students.

Students
at WILBERFORCE COLLEGE celebrated their
achievements at a recent annual awards ceremony. Hundreds
of students and their families descended on Hull City Hall
to enjoy an evening dedicated to academic and extracurricular
accomplishments. This is the seventh year running that the
College has held the ceremony, awarding certificates for

John Ruskin Tutor awarded MBE |
A
modest teacher says he is "humbled" at being appointed
an MBE by the Queen, after his own pupils nominated him.
John Rowlands, who taught Economics for 43 years at JOHN
RUSKIN COLLEGE, was given the prestigious title
for services to education. Three pupils had written to 10
Downing Street, praising him for his "dedication and
sheer love for his subject" and asking for him to be

SFC celebrate award of IB status |
ASHTON
SIXTH FORM COLLEGE have been successful in there
bid to become the only provider of the prestigious International
Baccalaureate Diploma course in Tameside. Following a rigorous
process of application to the International Baccalaureate
Organisation, including a two day inspection of the facilities
and staff, the IBO was happy to authorise the college to

PRIESTLEY
COLLEGE welcomed William Lewis to campus, the Head
of Innovation at the Learning and Skills Improvement Service.
The
service is a sector owned body that aims to accelerate the
drive for excellence in the learning and skills sector and
has been responsible for the direct funding of numerous
innovation projects at Priestley, in line with the College's
Beacon status.
